Doug Feith is like my personal hero. Wouldn’t you like to drift through life screwing up everything you touch and resenting everyone else for not possessing your personal shortcomings? Like, I want to know how after I write the world’s greatest book and defend the world’s greatest decisions, I can renege on a promise to testify to a House committee about my role in ordering and approving torture. Show me.
Feith thinks he’s just that gangster. But today Jerry Nadler was like, Son, I don’t think so. He just subpoenaed Feith!
“While most witnesses with relevant information appear before Congress voluntarily, in some cases, it is necessary to compel their testimony,” said Rep. Nadler. “It is simply not prudent to rely on the voluntary promise to appear of a witness who already has broken such an agreement. I hope that it will not become necessary to issue this subpoena, but Congress has the prerogative and duty to conduct meaningful oversight to ensure a robust system of checks and balances.”
Which of these men is more thugged-out?

Put him in a cell with Harriet Miers — it’s what Judge Bates thinks the Congress ought to do if they really want folks to testify. Powers unused will atrophy in the struggle between the branches. Inherent contempt is one of those powers: use it or lose it, Congress.
It’s time to find the key to that little jail under the Capitol rotunda and lock some miscreants up until they decide to testify.
Teddy, Teddy, what! No Christian charity or faith for Feith? What would RevDeb say, or peterr? I am sure he believed he did his service in the name of his lord shrub. Protecting the Republicans’ investments around the world.
They’re scardy. They’re busy sucking their thumbs.
But I have to say, I do like Nadler, just having had the opportunity to see him in action Thursday for the first time.
Wouldn’t you like to drift through life screwing up everything you touch and resenting everyone else for not possessing your personal shortcomings? I think Condi has gone farther with less than Feith.
Nadler is a poseur like the rest of the Democratic party. There’s not going to be any subpoena.
The soft bigotry of low expectations perhaps? More even than Condi though is Don Rumsfeld. Nixon himself recognized Don as a nutter, but kept him around anyway – pissing out from inside the tent an all that I guess. Gerry Ford wasn’t bright enough to recognize Don and Dick as the psychotic maniacs that they truly are, and now look where we are.

It wouldn’t have to be the Capitol jail they get held in. Since Feith is part of the balls-out attempt to eviscerate our centuries-old rights and has spent so much time and our money killing people for absolutely no reason, perhaps good, old-fashioned stocks could be placed at the top of the Capitol steps. Lock his fat head in the middle and his bloody hands to each side and lower the bar with a solid lock.
He might get rotten fruit thrown at him, and the jeers of good Americans (it is inherent “contempt” after all), but it would satisfy me…at least until he’s ready to be shipped to the Hague.
