It’s a bit concerting, isn’t it. I dip into FDL on and off over the day, and I could just run my checkbook dry with all the causes. In this sadly depressed economy .. as I watch my savings take a nose dive… I just really get depressed. Not that I don’t want to help, I DO. But I’m beginning to feel disfocussed.

Indeed. I started a new temp job this morning, but that just means I have some money to buy food and gas.
My 20 year old son moved back in with me and he’s got that wisdomteethneedtobepulled too. He’s got no insurance. He’s just grateful that I have a room for him and air conditioning and food.
This world is really hard and I’m having a hard time just trying to figure out which thread to be on.

Okay, can I get 150 to 200 people in Ventura/Santa Barbara counties and we’ll buy us a doctor? I know there are well trained doctors from India and Phillipines (many are in my health plan — I didn’t get mental health counseling because I just couldn’t do “whadya say?”). I have a room to rent/kitchen privileges. We all get catastrophic ins. for surgeries/broken arms/etc. I might even be able to find a nice Amurkan doctor who is ready to retire and would handle that minimal case load for time to surf, boat, fish, read. I’m telling you, folks, I think we are going to have to handle this mess on our own. No damned Dem is going to stand up for the rest of us.

Um…no, not at the moment, as I have half of the old house stacked around the new…it’s been a little stressful.

Oh, boy. Happy grandparenthood, though. These are times that your grandkids will remember forever.

My kids and I moved in with my dad and his wonderful wife when I was 48. The house I was buying wasn’t done, but the old one had been sold. My kids and my dad and his wife formed a really special bond during those two months.

Hospitals charge victims of crime for their injuries? This is one sick nation. What are those victims’ funds for, if not for this?

Thanks to everyone for their support. If you don’t feel like donating, you don’t feel like donating, simple as that. No one has enough money for everything they need/want. But please, if you don’t want to donate, there’s no need to lecture the rest of us on how many important causes there already are. We all know. My friend got hurt and I want to help him. That’s all.
