A great dKos diary from pmorian examines how the press distorts Clark’s non-attack on McCain’s POW suffering while ignoring Gen. Taguba’s use of the term "war crimes" to describe the Bush administration. As a reporter who put Taguba’s comments in Graf 6 and ran a big honkin’ picture of the general on a PHR piece, I endorse that sentiment 100 percent.
Yes, the media sucks, word to my Ampad spiral notebook. But we are the media now. When I was 17, I wanted to support ABC No Rio and WFMU and I also wanted to see 30 of my favorite bands play. So me and two of my best friends put on a two-day festival. DIY! Seriously. You know I believe it. We don’t have to put up with this sort of lazy media tripe. If you’ve got the time, the resources, the hunger, the integrity: start reporting, start writing, break down the walls.

OK. Let’s start with some ‘real talk’ on national security issues, since the media has been an equal partner with the war mongers who have driven us all to the cliff we stand on now.
Stop the pandering bullsh** about how wonderful Saudi Arabia and Israel are as allies.
They both advocate brutal torture and they both are in violation of several UN Resolutions.
-No Iraqi or Iranian, nor member of either Hamas or Hizb’allah, attacked the Cole or were part of 9-11.
-Nor have any of the above sought to harm the US economy or it’s citizenry nor made any demands of the US citizens that our children sacrifice their lives on their behalf.
-Nor have any of the above invaded and/or occupied Israel or Saudi Arabia.
I wrote to you yesterday about the instant branding by the US and Israel of an Arab man as a “terrorist” who went berserk with a bulldozer in Israel. No history of any anti-government activities, just a citizen of Israel, a father, a businessman -who cracked and went crazy.
Had he been an Israeli or any other nationality who did that- we know he never would have been branded as a terrorist.
And I warned you – watch now what our Democratic friends of East do to his family.
Today, Olmert himself, paying no attention to the 20 other people living in that house, many of whom are children, and all which are undergoing the trauma of their relatives horrible death, and after having arrested many of the mans family, plans to now bulldoze his house.
Those two nations need to be labeled and branded what they are – Israel an abominable examples of a ‘Democracy’ not deserving of one more drop of our blood or one cent of our tax money, and both placed on the very same list of potentially destructive forces against humanity and Americas best interests, right next to Iran and China.
