Via Matt Corley at ThinkProgress, the Iraqi parliament adjourned without passing its much-desired-by-Bush law for provincial elections. One lawmaker quoted by the AP   said that if the parliament passes a law in September, there’s a chance the provvies could be held before 2009. Even so, it looks like John McCain won’t have any purple-finger moment to point to in a debate with Barack Obama about Iraq.
