What was I thinking, drinking like that the night before a long bus trip? To quote Discharge: Why.
The show went well, thanks for asking. We played for a room full of our friends, and, in my case, my partents, which — if I can be treacly — is heartwarming. Long-lost friends emerged: Lara Nahas, Debbie Lee, Matt "Dead Nation/ xUPRISEx" Molnar. At least one high-school-era ex-girlfriend showed up, and let me take this opportunity to apologize: when I was introduced to you and started laughing, I was laughing at the absurdity of seeing you at the show after easily ten years and not laughing at you. Sorry about that.

Man, Debbie Lee comes to your show but not mine? I’m gonna crucify her!
But Max, I was there in spirit!
Spencer, for some reason (I blame Sam), I was under the impression that The Surge was a pop punk parody band, a la Boris the Sprinkler. I was pleasantly surprised. Sorry I didn’t say goodbye but you seemed, uh, well, um, busy.
