DENVER, Colo. -- On the way to the Media Matters party, new FDL affiliate Katie Halper spotted... Rudy Giuliani. Rudy is way, way beefier in person than you'd expect, probably from the steroids that Jason Giambi sold him. We went over to say hi.

So, coincidence: it so happens that my friends' dad and my mother's friend is Fred Siegel, the brilliant Cooper Union professor who basically wrote the intellectual underpinnings of his mayoralty. So I was like, Hey Rudy, I know Fred Siegel! Woo! Even did it in my most Brooklynest of accents.

Blank stare. Or, rather, the Rudy version of the blank stare: the plastered, creased grin.

Finally: "Good to see you!"

That's what loyalty to Rudy gets you. OK time to watch HRC. Megan's liveblogging it.
