DENVER, Colo. -- Real talk: All of you out there watching the conventions on TV? You're the smart ones. The worst place to cover the events taking place in Denver is from within the dreadful din of the Pepsi Center. It's pointless to attend. Yesterday night I watched HRC's speech from the luxury of the nearby Media Matters office, where alcohol and food were plentiful. If you're not on the floor -- where it's impossible to get any work done anyway, unless you're manning a camera -- you're watching the thing on TV anyway, only it's deafening and uncomfortable. And for that privilege, you wait for over an hour at least in the equivalent of a cattle pen, crushed in the summer heat, trying to clear security. Tonight I'll be liveblogging Biden over at the Streak, as well as covering all the security-themed stuff tonight for here too, and I'm going to do the whole thing from Media Matters again.

And you know what? I have a pass to the Kanye West show tonight. Next week in Afghanistan, perhaps, but tonight in outer space.
