Sarah Palin is totally ready to become commander in chief.

So there’s this:

"…It’s very important when you consider even national security issues with Russia as Putin rears his head and comes into the air space of the United States of America, where– where do they go? It’s Alaska."

I… don’t think that’s true. Chances are Putin flies over Europe and the Atlantic in order to get to the east coast of the United States (where he goes when he comes here), not Alaska and then over the North American continent. A friend who’s visited Moscow tells me the flight path he took was indeed a European one. But even if Putin opts for the scenic route — of if Palin was, as my friend thinks, using a weird metaphor for Russian missile/MiG flight patterns that indeed use Alaska — Palin’s defense of her Alaska comments remains weird and unsettling.
