Yes on both counts. As I think is reported in EOTC (and if not it’s apocryphal), Johnny used to keep a KKK membership card in his wallet to piss off his liberal friends. (Hardy har har. I’ll bet Marc “Marky Ramone” Bell found that one hilarious.) So when Johnny stole Linda from Joey, Joey wrote “The KKK Took My Baby Away.”
