Via ex-boss JMM, Rep. Paul Broun, distinguished Republican of Georgia, says:
"It may sound a bit crazy and off base, but the thing is, he’s the one who proposed this national security force. I’m just trying to bring attention to the fact that we may — may not, I hope not — but we may have a problem with that type of philosophy of radical socialism or Marxism. That’s exactly what Hitler did in Nazi Germany and it’s exactly what the Soviet Union did."
I know! Next thing you know, Obama will claim the constitution gives him plenary authority to — I don’t know — detain people for indefinite periods at undisclosed locations around the globe, where they can be interrogated outside of Geneva Conventions-prescribed boundaries, while establishing a surveillance infrastructure that targets the communications data of American citizens! And who knows where that could lead? Perhaps after that he’ll gin up a pretext to invade and occupy a foreign country for an indefinite period of time. And then he’ll instruct his Justice Department to target elements of the political opposition or support his political allies, and fire those prosecutors that resist! And you know what would add insult to injury? Those who point out such abuses would be called hysterics, fanatics, and lunatics. Woe to the nation that heedeth not Paul Broun’s lonely warning.
