To return to the Cro-Mags-vs-Agnostic-Front debate, if you’re around Manhattan tonight, you could get an in-person demonstration. Gavin McInnes’ cover band 80s Hardcore is playing at Cakeshop tonight for free, and they’re going to be playing both AF’s "Victim In Pain" and the Cro-Mags’ "Hard Times," which are insanely hard songs.

The question that presents itself, of course, is whether to start a band called 90s Hardcore. And I think the answer there is an emphatic yes. Email spencerackerman-at-gmail-dot-com if you live in and around D.C. and can play "Firestorm" by Earth Crisis or "Mary & Child" and "Jock Gestapo" by Born Against or "Underneath" by Chokehold or any of Unbroken’s Life. Love. Regret. album.

If I lived in DC, I’d be there. Although “Firestorm” can be played over email. Dun-dun. Dun-dun. Dun-dun. Dun-dun. Dun-dun-dun-dun-dun-dun-dun-dun-dun-dun-dun-dun-dun-dun-dun-dun. [repeat]
