This one’s a Blue Texan tip-off. Eric Erickson of Red State surveys the Chambliss victory in Georgia and concludes that Barack Obama should worry:
Both Sarah Palin and Barack Obama campaigned in Georgia. Palin flew all over the state rallying Republicans. Obama flew under the radar heavily targeting black voters, demanding support for Martin, and running heavy radio advertising on urban stations.
Ladies and Gentlemen, black voters turned out for Obama, but not for Obama’s candidates. Remember that for 2010.
Emphasis in the original! Or, to translate: the Democrats can’t rely on blacks even though their president is black. Remember that for 1865. But whatever. Whatever convinces the GOP to nominate Palin in 2012 I am down with. Sign me up for her primary campaign!
Let’s keep going with Erickson’s line of reasoning. Who were Jim Martin’s key surrogates? Why, I see via Alex Balk and Vanity Fair that they were Young Jeezy and Ludacris:

Martin’s defeat in the runoff is a clear indication that both The Recession and Theater of The Mind are going to tank.

Erickson obviously doesn’t realize there is a huge difference between a GE and a run-off election. Even Saxby the Scumbag got 500,000 fewer votes or so this time around compared to a month ago.
David Gergen, Wise Villager Emeritus, tried this scheme last nite, crediting Sarah Palin with Saxby’s extraordinary victory. Andy Cooper challenged him, asking, “Wait, are you saying Sarah Palin got Saxby Chambliss re-elected?” Which made Gergen retreat into standard mumbling boilerplate about how Saxby’s victory DID prove that Obama will need to govern from the center, blah blah blah.
They are all reaching for relevance for their dear GOP, and they’ve decided that Saxby’s win redeems it.
