The fact that she is living there and working there among them, and sharing the stories of real people… </p> <p>The thing that is so troubling about how we fight these wars is that we keep helping out the warlords who dominate and hurt others. We use them to get a foot in, but they are the ones who become drug traffickers and terrorize all the “little people” who really deserve our help. Opium production soared after we got into the act in the early 90’s.
