		<description>&lt;p&gt;I don’t think Obama/Clinton/Gates will “encourage” a brink-pull-back either. Nor will the Congress. I’m pretty sure Obama wasn’t expecting this to be on the top of his pile on Jan. 20th, but I don’t see how he can support “destroying Hamas” and hold his US coalition together.  &lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Israel is in a multi-decade tragic play that has an ugly last act, yet to be written.  &lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;At some point, Hamas/Hezbolah/PLO are perhaps going to unite and go postal in something really terrible, even supported perhaps by Egypt/Saudi Arabia/Jordan/Syria/Lebanon when the popular outcry can’t be ingnored without destabilization in their own countries.  It won’t be a ‘67-type war, but more like Lebanon Plus, and Israel doesn’t seem to recognize that possibility.  A fortress Israel is as likely to stand as Masada against the Romans if pure numbers mean anything.&lt;/p&gt;</description>
