That was fast. Sen. Carl Levin (D-Mich.) just announced that his Senate Armed Services Committee will hold confirmation hearings next Thursday morning for the new Obama Pentagon subcabinet team. That conflicts with the Hillary Clinton confirmation hearings in the Senate Armed Services Committee, which is annoying and inconvenient. Watch for what Undersecretary of Defense-designee Michele Flournoy says about the role of counterinsurgency in forthcoming Pentagon policy postures.
