Some new crew members joined the Washington Independent today, and you should welcome them. First up — and you know her from the Silo and her own blog, Majikthise — Lindsay Beyerstein, one of the finest bloggers in this game. She’ll be covering money in politics for us and and and has just moved into the Flophouse. Written out that seems a lot creepier than it is, I assure you.

That’s not all! Also coming aboard is Kate Klonick, most recently — like me, like Laura McGann — of TPMmuckraker. She’ll be looking into the Justice Dept. for us. Two extremely strong hires going into 2008 2009, along with recent acquisition Dave Weigel. They’re like our C.C., A.J. and Teixiera.
