I’m not saying that using WP is legal or condoning it. I’m hoping that we don’t replenish it.
What I’m suggesting is that human nature hasn’t changed in 64 years, I fear that, with some cosmetic language, the re-stocking will occur.

Forget the troll. He doesn’t add anything to the conversation that anyone with a radio can’t get by listing to Rush. We already know what he is going to say, and as has been pointed out above, it’s all fact-free. Great work if you can get it. He’s on somebody’s payroll, be sure of it.

They didn’t, but that was 64 years ago, and WP use in civilian areas is now clearly a war crime. Are you saying it isn’t, or that the Senate will be once again rubber stamping IDF munitions replenishment?

I think it’s time, and I hope the new administration agrees, that the real powers in the world assume the responsibility for settling this mess. It’s clear that Israel and the Palestinians are clawing at each others’ humanity. They probably can’t settle this by themselves at this point.
It would be nice to see power used in service of the common good.

I think most of the attention is focused on Israel because it holds so much of the power and is consequently responsible for so much of what has happened. If Israel had not settled a half million Israelis on Palestinian lands, if it had tried to develop the Territories rather than carve up the land and monopolize the resources, if it was not the dominant regional military power with 200 nuclear weapons, then it might have more of a case. But it doesn’t. With great power comes great responsibility. And Israel has been ducking responsibility and accountability for decades.

But you are correct. There is much to blame on the Palestinian side, but since the power is so much less. In the calculus of these things, their vitues like their vices count for little.

The white phosphorous shells that the U.S. dropped on Tokyo didn’t lead to any objections in the Senate.

Has anyone heard anything about congress getting ready to pass a bill to replenish Israel’s weapons they used over the past four weeks? It might be the best opportunity in years to raise opposition to such a move.

After the Hezbollah War, the Senate quickly moved to replenish the cluster bombs and so on. The use of white phosphorus in Gaza was a very clear and serious war crime. Is there a way we can force the Senate to a certain level of review on this because of the WP use, when this issue comes up?
