Somehow though, the wishes of the majorities within each tribal/ethnic group don’t seem likely to prevail over the forces internal and external to the country. </p> <p>From what I understand of the the La Brea tar pits, even one foot into the tar pretty much doomed the animal to join the bones of countless others. </p> <p>We’ll be lucky, very lucky, to avoid a repeat of the Russian experience in Afghanistan.
