It’s been a long time since I had to walk the dog at 4 in the morning. Anyone have any recommendations for books or articles on dog psychology?
Update: What wins the internet at 4:30 a.m? It’s a tie. Between this and this.

I like “The Other End of the Leash” by Patricia MacConnell and “Dog Logic” by Joel McMains. Both of these authors have written other books that are also useful and interesting to read.
Jarmo
I see that I misspelled Patricia B. McConnell’s name.
She writes a regular column for Bark magazine. If you want to get an idea of how she writes, the current article is about fear reduction.
Joel McMains’ book may not be available as a new book. Dog Logic is more training oriented but with a useful psychological component to his explanations.
Hope this helps.
This is better than a book because you can see and hear on TV how to be the pack leader with a dog rather than a pack member or omega dog:
Cesar Millan’s National Geographic regular program on Friday nights, called ‘Dog Whisperer’. There are several seasons of his program on DVD, and other miscellaneous dog/human stuff here.
If you don’t receive Nat. Geo on cable, see if his DVDs are rentable from Netflick or whatever. Best advice and demonstration, ever.
