yikes! what do you call this kind of self-parody?

To be fair, there’s only so much you can do to add emotional context to explosions. Still, Transformers was conceived as an homage to the Japanese merchandising-comics-animation complex, which sets the bar pretty high for emotional detonations; too high, apparently, for Stan Bush.
