Maureen Dowd steals from a Josh Marshall post. Dowd today:
More and more the timeline is raising the question of why, if the torture was to prevent terrorist attacks, it seemed to happen mainly during the period when the Bush crowd was looking for what was essentially political information to justify the invasion of Iraq.

I truly hope there won’t be any attempt at pinning this on a research assistant. I’ve heard people claim that mistakes like this can happen when you cut and paste stuff into your notes, but I’m somewhat confused by that exculpation. Writers know what material sounds like their voices and what material doesn’t.
Jane provides a hi-larious lesson in contrasts.

Seriously, if MoDo plagiarized you, would you be flattered or depressed? I feel bad for Josh.
Oh, she admits it now:
Josh hasn’t addressed it at TPM yet. It’s funny that a regular reader of his blog(also named Josh) found it. This isn’t unusual for MoDo. You have to remember that she doesn’t always write her own columns. Just flashback to a year ago and the New Hampshire primaries. You remember what happened then, right?
I know it’s the NYT, supposedly exempt from all internet traditions, but would a link to TPM in the correction hurt them so very much?
