Former Bill Clinton lawyer Lanny Davis is about as anti-progressive as you can get and still be a Democrat — here’s Davis in 2006 calling liberal opponents of Sen. Joe Lieberman "McCarthyites" on the opinion page of the Wall Street Journal — and yet, via Greg Sargent, even this bastion of bipartisan establishmentarianism thinks it’s time to indict Dick Cheney:
So as to Mr. Cheney: I think it is time to take him up on his implicit dare and indict him for violating the 1994 federal law against torture.
Not to do so, in light of Mr. Cheney’s arrogant public challenges, may reinforce the notion that Mr. Cheney can get away with lawbreaking, and be proud of it, because he is a former vice president, and because he is the tough, intimidating Dick Cheney who everyone (at least many) in the Bush administration feared.
I hereby pass Davis a ceremonial bong.

cheney is playing a bluff, no doubt
one of two things happen from here;
obama is a GREAT poler player and calls this bluff
obama is a TERRIBLE poker player and allows this morong to boss him around
Haven’t heard anything about the court ruling that Cheney’s two supposedly exculpatory CIA memos could not be released, as far as what that means for Cheney’s CYA effort. Could that be because that was a bluff? Maybe a bluff within the larger bluff that you mention, Perris??
You have that right. What got into Lanny?!?!?
Lanny Davis is PEP, (Progressive Except for Palestine).
Davis supported Joe Lieberman because they are members of the tribe. Cheney is a goy, therefore he should be prosecuted.
Remember who Steve Rosen, the indicted AIPAC spy, used as a public relations man? Lanny Davis. All politics is not local, it’s tribal.
