DoD Identifies Army Casualty

The Department of Defense announced today the death of a soldier who was supporting Operation Iraqi Freedom. Capt. Kafele H. Sims, 32, of Los Angeles, died June 16 in Mosul, Iraq, of a non-combat related incident. He was assigned to the 18th Engineer Brigade, Schwetzingen, Germany. The circumstances surrounding the incident are under investigation.
