I’m not qualified to talk about Sarah Palin, and yet Megan Carpentier & I did so anyway this morning in an exchange that somehow I have not found the time to re-post. Megan makes a halfway-persuasive case that there really is too much liberal hating of Palin going around, and she doesn’t do so in any kind of concern-troll-y way.

Liberal-hating on Palin? How so? It’s more like uncontrolled laughter at her silliness.
Palin generated extreme hate because she is a pro-lifer who had six children. This makes her a Breeder, a most hated species.
The most recent baby with Downs Syndrome was probably the reason the level of hate was raised to immense proportions . Americans that drink mocha crappaccinos know that such blobs should be snuffed before birth and made into stem-cells in order to enhance the lives of privileged people like themselves.
She definitely pushes the buttons, but contrary to the troll’s opinion, Liberals don’t hate disabled children. Some of us even give birth to them, and adopt them, and take them in as foster children. I’m one of them, and I don’t appreciate you calling my son a blob, asshole.
Sarah gets the hate because she is the embodiment of everything bad about the know-nothing branch of Republicans.
She relishes her ignorance, does not value knowledge or expertise, and sows division and hate. She questions other’s patriotism and calls Democrats terrorists, but when called on her vitriol she plays the sexism card (while winking fetchingly) and whines about being a victim.
So, yes, Liberals love to hate her because she serves us up soooo many easy targets – but she started it when she declared herself the arbiter of who is and isn’t a “real American.”
The real question is why does the extreme right get off so much on mean, nasty, insulting, vindictive women? (see: Ann Coulter, Michelle Malkin)
