My friend Amanda wanted me to discuss the casting of Ryan Reynolds as Green Lantern in an upcoming movie, but since I don’t care about DC’s non-Batman superheroes, I consider myself underqualified. Somehow that led me down a procrastination rabbit-hole that told me Natalie Portman has been cast in the Thor movie. But that doesn’t even come close to the true revelation in the link I found:
Kenneth Branagh is directing.
Kenneth Branagh? For a THOR vehicle? Shall we see Ewan MacGregor as the Odinson himself? Brian Blessed as Volstagg? Also, and this has nothing to do with our theme, but "Beta Ray Bill" by Chisel has to be featured in the soundtrack.
OH AND MARCY JUST SAID BLOWJOB ON MSNBC

I would have at least figured you for a Green Arrow fan.
should I be? I never read a single Green Arrow story. I think the most exposure I’ve ever had to GA came from his scenes in Dark Knight Returns.
Thor and Loki were cast a couple of weeks back … The guy who plays Kirk’s father as Thor and some Masterpiece Theater guy – whose name escapes me – as Loki.
O’ and the Green Arrow, The Longbow Hunters is absolutely worth a look.
I thought Eric Idle would have been a great Loki.
Thank goodness it wasn’t Burt Reynolds asa the Green Lantern. On the other hand, it might be interesting.
There’s been a few production delays, so Branagh is filming more Wallander right now before doing Thor.
He’s got… eclectic.
