I am going to be on al-Jazeera at 9 p.m. talking about Peter Galbraith’s bullshit-filled ouster from the U.N. mission in Afghanistan. Except that by the time you see that interview, I will already be at DC9 for the Sunny Day Real Estate show. So here are some links to tide you over until I return from seeing the show I’ve most wanted to see all year.

Noah Shachtman finds a dude who thinks that it’s good that Obama hasn’t really had any face time with McChrystal.

Laura Rozen previews the Iran/p5+1 talks in Geneva. I know, we get it — yeah you too

And while this isn’t a link, just in from Central Command:

GEN David H. Petraeus, Commander, U.S. Central Command, has appointed LtGen Richard F. Natonski, Commander, U.S. Marine Corps Forces Command, to investigate the facts and circumstances surrounding the combat action that occurred on July 13, 2008, at Wanat Village, Wygal District, Nuristan Province, Afghanistan.

The new investigation will address issues that have arisen since the completion of the AR 15-6 investigation, and will also address circumstances beyond the tactical level.

For more on What Happened At Wanat, you should read Tom Ricks.

Also, I kept meaning to discuss this piece about al-Qaeda, but I didn’t have time today. Tomorrow! Until then, what did you make of it?

Is Jeremy Enigk still religious? Not that there’s anything wrong with that! It’s just my vague recollection that that was why SDRE broke up way back when. Whatever, could very easily just be bullshit scene gossip.
