A horrific day for the Army. Let’s all refrain from speculating about the motivations of the shooters until we at least know what happened. I keep hearing CNN talk about combat stress like they know who the shooters even are and it just pisses me off as a journalist. Irresponsible.
The Austin American-Statesman has set up a useful Twitter feed for information on these awful developments.

CNN is mindless. It seems they have the theory. Now they’ll go out and find evidence to prove it and then somehow tie it into Obama’s Afghan decision. They are becoming as bad as the right wing propaganda station, Faux Noise.
You watch.
As fate would have it, I was driving by Ft. Hood on 190 today, ca. 4PM. I had not heard the news, but noticed the base entrances sealed from both sides–base security inside, state troopers blocking gates from outside. State trooper vehicles parked so that they blocked entrances. Some 190 exits blocked off as well, trooper vehicles parked across them with lights on. Turned radio on, finally found a station talking about the situation.
Based on the way the base was closed off, and the directive given to all soldiers (announced on radio) –to get inside structures and avoid windows and doors–the base appeared to be acting as if it was under attack.
also saw some highly unusual driving by state troopers and others on 190. was scratching my head and wondering wtf.
We now know the guy was a Muslim terrorist. Whether he acted alone or in conspiracy is TBD, but he admired Obama. That should tell you something.
I’m shocked that a Nazi like you would decide to disrespect the dead soldiers at Ft. Hood by making a comment like that. Shocked.
There have been a number of nasty incidents in and around Fort Hood and other US military bases through the years, and most of them have involved Caucasian Americans as the shooters. Sorry, but one nutter named “Malik” doesn’t give you the excuse to go out killing brown people.
I don’t (won’t) watch CNN, but as a PTSD sufferer, I’d like to point out that in forty years neither I nor anyone I know from group has shot up any goddam army bases. People do shit for their own reasons. To try to make their actions fit your narrative is not only stupid, it’s fucking transparent…

Okay, so you only believe in government force being used against brown people. You’re a Republican. Whatever. You believe in ethnic cleansing/genocide, militarism/imperialism, and racism, which is pretty close to a certain historical fascist movement that I referenced.
