DoD Identifies Marine Casualty
The Department of Defense announced today the death of a Marine who was supporting Operation Enduring Freedom.
Sgt. Charles I. Cartwright, 26, of Union Bridge, Md., died Nov. 7 while supporting combat operations in Farah province, Afghanistan. He was assigned to 1st Marine Special Operations Battalion, U.S. Marine Corps Forces Special Operations Command, Camp Pendleton, Calif.

Charles Cartwright’s funeral took place on Monday 16Nov in his Union Bridge hometown, at the FIreman’s Hall building where his father serves as assistant fire chief. His body was cremated.
He had done 5 tours in Afghanistan and Iraq.
Union Bridge, Maryland is a town about 12 miles west of Westminster, and 20 miles northeast of Frederick.
