Among Republicans… only 27% say Obama actually won the race, with 52% — an outright majority — saying that ACORN stole it, and 21% are undecided. Among McCain voters, the breakdown is 31%-49%-20%. By comparison, independents weigh in at 72%-18%-10%, and Democrats are 86%-9%-4%.
Only two things. They’re not mutually exclusive.
1. Racism. They can’t believe that Enn Word won the election. No Enn Word has ever been president of the United States. Ergo, this Enn Word certainly could not have been legitimately elected. This requires ascribing Herculean powers to ACORN, but whatever. That organization is full of Enn Words.
2. Absolute Blithering Hysteria. See the ACORN point.
Either way, it all points to basically a cost-free Democratic majority. The only relevant disputes going forward are going to be within the Democratic coalition if only 27 percent of Republicans say Obama was legitimately elected.

Last year I was trying to explain to a volunteer why he should support the Democratic Party as a whole. We’d already had some pretty technical activism conversations, so we were kind of talking in campaign jargon. I said to him, “Some Democrats may be wrong, but they can be persuaded, given enough effort. The Democrats encompass the entirety of the persuadable universe.”
The Republicans can’t be convinced of anything; they’re simply beyond persuasion. What’s right and what’s wrong to a Republican is never in question, the only question is what they can achieve in the service of what they know is right–that’s what unites them (the certitude, not a monolithic conception of what’s right). It’s high-density though, like a bullet, and I fear they may have really killed ACORN this time.
Yup, you’ve both got it.
Btw, Spencer, you did well with Rachel last night. You are awfully young, though….
Bu bu bu bu wait, that can’t be right. Hell just a month or so ago James Carville and his pal Greenberg, both Democrats, PROMISED that the opposition to President Obama had nothing to do with race. Hell they even had a poll that PROVED IT!
/snark
It was ACORN who gamed all the polls that were taken during the election season. Nate Silver is nothing more than an agent of ACORN.

The cons blame ACORN even when there isn’t any, cf NY-23.
Typical of a Soros-funded blog to defend ACORN and their nefarious plot to stuff 10 million ballots in 2008. ACORN owns Diebold, right?
