Beck is an idiot, but for what it’s worth, Mormons view themselves as Israelites, the natural brothers of the jews and everyone else is a gentile, even arabs who are semites… except for American Indians which are descendants of the jews.

Glenn Beck has exactly the kind of name about which my anti-semitic grandmother would say ominously, “What kind of name is Beck, anyway?” We, thankfully, now live in an America where right-thinking people don’t care what your name is, and don’t judge you by the color of your skin.

We’re now getting to the point where you are judged by the content of your character, and in that case, Glenn Beck is in trouble. Beck harkens back to an ugliness in American, and human, history that is shameful and wrong.

Let’s evolve past Beck (and my grandmother, bless her), please.

Not to ignore Beck, but many Jews are starting to have a Martin Niemoeller moment as they watch AIPAC and its allies demonize Jewish critics of rightwing positions. It goes something like this:
