Both the Times and the Washington Post have accounts of a secret Special Operations Forces prison informally called the Black Jail, following what I gather are new revelations from former internees and human-rights groups, principally the Open Society Institute. Marcy tells me on her Twitter feed that there were existing reasons to believe this prison, apparently attached to Bagram, exists. I’ve emailed a contact at the Afghanistan Independent Human Rights Commission to see if AIHRC knew anything about the prison and will report when I hear more.
