KABUL, Afghanistan (20 Jan.) – Afghan National Police and ISAF forces seized 2,000 pounds (approximately 910kg) of marijuana during the search of a building in the Nehr-e Sajab district of Helmand Province yesterday afternoon. The drugs were handed over to the Afghan National Police.
Think about the willpower! You come across 2000 pounds of what looks like sticky, beautiful marijuana and don’t pull a Frank Lucas, you turn that over to the ANP. If the Marines pulled off — oh, let’s say — five pounds for themselves, not a single person would blame them.
What’s more, these guys are in the world’s breadbasket of opiates. I don’t want to come across as an apologist for drug use. But think about the professionalism required to avoid becoming a force of tasters.

My experience with the ANSF tells me that the ANP will not be as professional.
Heh, yeah, mine neither.
Drugs were a real military “personnel management tool” during the Viet Nam war.
How do you know they didn’t actually find 5,000 pounds?
because he would have noticed the resultant dip in the street price.
Sure you saw it too, but seriously, when we worked with them they were ALWAYS baked.
