I can’t for the life of me figure out why I thought of this song after reading this story. Why the British think the U.S. is going to spend an iota of energy “pressuring” Israel over the Dubai assassination is a mystery to anyone who’s spent 30 seconds over the last 60 years observing the U.S.-Israel relationship.

I dont think they will bother mr. Obama. Rather, I think its the EUs status w Israel thats at stake. Trading measures and so on.
As fnord says, it’s the British gov’t that’s expected to pressure Israel. They’ve done some stupid things in their time but they know who has the real ‘special relationship’ with the US – and it ain’t them.
Both Britain and the US use false passports for their undercover people overseas (spies and assassins)as much as Israel.
I’d bet the hit in Dubai was actually carried out by the US or the UK. After all, if Israel is tracking an Iranian arms smuggler, the publicity value of catching the load of arms on a ship is priceless. The best that can happen with an assassination of a Hamas guy is that people ignore it.
