GUANTANAMO BAY — Something that genuinely made me proud to be an American today was the testimony of Army Col. Donna Hershey, the former head nurse at Bagram, who has a ludicrous number of combat deployments under her belt and made incredibly clear on the stand today that she was not going to acquiesce to any form of medical-based abuse. The prosecution asked her if anyone ever conducted an interrogation of a detainee in her hospital wards. “They tried,” she replied, ice-grilling all the way. “We would ask them to leave.”
A reporter here, amazed at how bad-ass Hershey was, remarked, “If Corsetti tried that shit, no doubt she would have put him in a stress position.”

Bless you for bearing witness to all of this. The Donna Hershey’s of this world are our unsung heroes. I honor her vigilence, dignity and willingness to kick ass when called for.
My sincere THANKS to Col Hershey.
Thank you, Colonel Hershey. It’s because of decent people like you that the criminals are eventually brought to book.
I linked to this piece over at Facebook. Seems people need a hero. Thanks…
We need a lot more soldiers like Col. Hershey. Thank you, thank you, thank you.
