Now’s a bad time to be part of Iraq’s anti-Iranian/pro-Saddam cult known as the Mujahideen-e-Khalq. For the first time since 2003, the U.S. is no longer offering it protection from Iranian or pro-Iranian reprisal attacks, like last year’s Iraqi Security Forces-driven bloody wild-out.

Oh shit. I let this one slip under my radar. Whilst I feel bad about the members of the cult, I feel no compassion for MEK itself. I would have liked some way to give them asylum whilst taking them out of the cult.
A tad concerned that there seems to be a tacit alliance of sorts between MEK and the UK Conservative Party, via a Syriana-esque non-parliamentary-committee “British Parliamentary Committee on Iran Freedom,” whose esteemed members include everyone’s favourite crooked politician, Jeffery Archer, and someone who’d make Palin look like umm…Winston Churchill on a show co-written by In the Loop’s Armando Iannucci.
