What a perfectly screwed morning. Went to a cybersecurity conference thinking I’d get some good material out of it. But then my aircard decided it only wanted to intermittently cooperate; GoogleDocs didn’t want to help me take notes; outlet power was hard to come by. To everyone I skipped in line to ask a Cyber Command one-star a question: Sorry. Not making excuses, but being a reporter sometimes requires not adhering to basic social rules. I don’t act like this in my spare time. (Much.) (Anymore.)
Hopefully technical difficulties will no longer interrupt posting. The irony of this morning is a bitter one.

Butting in line to ask questions used to be the hallmark of a good reporter, so I’m sorry to see it’s something folks feel a need to apologize for. The whole managed-presser is something I’d like to see junked for more free-for-all shouted questioning.
Go for it, Spencer.
